Schwesternbesuch III.

Seattle - Heimat unbeschreiblicher Architektur, der Seahawks und Starbucks, herrlichen Kaffees und natürlich Grunge. Für mich war es das erste Mal in den Staaten und eigentlich war fast alles genauso wie hier in Kanada (die kleine Entfernung zwischen Vancouver und Washington State merkt man sehr). Fast: Es gibt einen anderen Dollar, viel Patriotismus und Cocktails durfte ich dank meines zarten Alters auch nicht trinken. Spaß beiseite, mir hat es unglaublich gut gefallen und vor allem das EMP (Experience Music Project) Museum kann ich jedem annähernd Musikbegeistertem ans Herz legen. Und natürlich das Shoppen (was hier in Whistler ein schieres Unding ist)! Nach Monaten des Reisens hat man es einfach satt ständig dieselben Sachen zu tragen!
Ein bisschen enttäuscht bin ich allerdings darüber, dass der berühmte St. Patrick's Day am Wochenende zuvor gefeiert wurde, sodass wir alle Feierlichkeiten und Paraden verpasst haben. Dagegen hätte ich diesen Tag viel lieber in crazy Whistler, das voll von Iren und sonstigen Bierliebhabern ist, verbracht und mich gemeinsam mit all meinen Bekannten in den Wahnsinn gefeiert. Oh well.

Seattle - Home of the Seahawks and Starbucks, incredible architecture, amazing coffee, and of course grunge. It was my first time in the States and, actually, almost everything was the same as it is here in Canada (you can definitely feel the proximity of Vancouver and Washington State). Almost: There's a different dollar, a lot of patriotism, and I wasn't allowed to drink cocktails due to my young age. Jokes aside, I really enjoyed being in Seattle and especially visiting the EMP (Experience Music Project) Museum, which I can recommend anyone that enjoys music to some extent. & of course shopping was amazing over there (while in Whistler that's a complete joke)! After months of traveling it's such a nuisance to always have to wear the same things. Over and over.
However, I'm a little disappointed that all St. Patrick's Day celebrations and parades have been held the prior weekend, meaning that we missed them. I would have much rather liked to spend it in crazy Whistler, which is full of Irish people and other beer lovers, and partied myself into oblivion. Oh well.
